I’m in Disney this week and I decided to post about all the wonderful food options I’ll be encountering this week.
Continue reading “Hello From Disney”It’s hard to believe that we are almost two weeks into 2023 already! Every year, I find myself reflecting around this time on all the hustle and bustle of the holidays. How quickly it begins and how quickly it comes to an end. The time period for creating dishes “holiday” flavors is so short and chaotic, that I barely had a chance to make anything last month.
I love baking and using the holiday flavors: peppermint, pumpkin spice, gingerbread, apple, cranberry, and walnut, just to name a few. So, I decided to make this delicious looking gingerbread cake in January. Don’t tell the food police!

This cookbook is one that I was excited to finally purchase and it’s surely one to take my baking skills to the next level. That couldn’t be more true than when I attempted one of the most challenging cakes in the book, and of my life: the French Classic Genoise.

This year, we are doing a much smaller Thanksgiving celebration and, officially, it’s on Saturday, not Thursday. But, I’m still tasked with making dessert and currently in the process of narrowing down what I should make.

Continue reading “What You’ve All Been Waiting For…”A little over two years ago I started this blog. At the time I wanted to create an Ina Garten cook-through blog so that’s what I did. And the early posts from the fall of 2020 are there to prove it. In fact I started with this simple recipe for applesauce which is still the only one I will use.
Continue reading “My Second Blog-aversary”As summer comes to a close, I though it would be a good idea to take one last advantage of all the delicious berries available. Strawberry season is long gone and the drop in flavor is almost immediate. So I stayed clear of strawberries this time. For this recipe the star was blueberries.

You would think that for a month where I didn’t have a lot to say, it would be easy to compile a recap. That isn’t always the case. Today is one of those days.
Continue reading “August 2022 Round Up”Last week I finally treated myself to cake. Yes, cake! I have been avoiding the Cakes chapter of the Magnolia Bakery cookbook for a couple months. But I finally decided to make the cake that most intrigued me: the Hummingbird Cake.
