In the colder months, I typically like to bake bread. It’s a process that kind of lends itself to needing to be done on days when you are home more. While a lot of the time is passive, I have found that the stretches of time are not exactly long enough for me to leave the house to run errands. I also tend to stay home more in the winter months. The darkness that comes at 4:30 isn’t fun.

Despite the chilly temperatures, my yard looked pretty thanks to the dusting of snow Thursday morning. More snow is possibly on the way! I have a love/hate relationship with winter and winter weather. One day, I’ll explain more about it. But for now, here’s a picture of my snow-dusted back yard.
We are in the midst of our first truly “cold day” of the season. Usually, at this point in November, we are seeing temperatures in the high 40s and up to the low 60s. However, today the high is supposed to reach only 36! Much too cold for this time of year here in CT.
While I was glad to finally be able to acceptably wear a sweater to work today, all I can think about is wanting to stay home, under blankets and sip warm tea.
I think this week, I’m going to make a soup recipe. Even though by Friday, the weather should return to more seasonable temperatures.
